Multi-use games area
Type of project: MultiGame by PlayPitch
Location: Bridlington, UK
Client: Hilderthrorpe Primary Academy
What we did: Hilderthorpe Primary recently underwent a complete rebuild and as part of the process they have been left with only a small area of natural grass and the new playground has no markings. The school desperately needed a platform to deliver a broad range of activities within an alternative learning environment, giving opportunities to develop physical and social skills in both curricular and enrichment activities.
With an area adjacent to the main playground perfect in size to develop into an all weather surface the school asked us to design and build a safe and engaging play space that suits the schools needs.
The process was simple in that we conducted a site visit, took preliminary measurements and determined the best type of artificial grass for their needs. Potential designs and associated costings were given to the school for feedback. The preferred design was chosen and payment schedule confirmed.
One of the main concerns was that the work would be complete before the start of the new academic year. The whole thing took just a little over 2 weeks to complete thanks in part to the unique panel base system we use.
They now have a comfy, durable, easy to maintain all weather playing surface with line markings that allow various formal sport activities as well as a space for informal games and personal development activities. A fantastic facility that neither the weather or intensive use will spoil.
